Lake Ann House UPDATE

by Mike on September 24, 2008 , 00:00

I spent the day out in Lake Ann today getting all the utilities on and working. After 2 years of being empty and shut down, everything seems to have survived other then the Kitchen faucet. The water pump, water heater, furnace, plumbing (minus the faucet) and electrical all seem to be ok. I brought out a camping cot and slept there this afternoon and when I woke up, everything was still working and I had hot water.. YEE HA!

I have to go back out Thursday and replace the faucet and meet with the new renters to get my MONEY and the give them the keys. I need to work up a lease agreement between now and then so I can have the renters sign it. Anyone know of a good place to look for a lease online? One that I can modify for the renters?

I’m looking forward to not having to worry so much about that house and the cost of keeping it going. These people I’m renting to seem very nice (of course don’t they all?). Being a first time landlord will be interesting. I just hope they will stay until spring so I don’t have to take over the heat bills or winterize the place. I am going to have them sign a 6 month lease. But, that never means much.

Anyway, just thought I would make a short update. I plan on podcasting more this week. so stay tuned! (subscribed)

PS, I hope you like the new simple and less self-serving design for the blog. I figured if it was less cluttered it would be easier to read. Let me know!
